Dear ,
Scott from ESSpa here. Eva and I have been quiet, not because we do not care or are oblivious to everything going on here at home and around the world. It is simply because we have been trying to let everyone concentrate on ensuring that they are their loved ones are safe and sound. And Eva's absolutely does not want to do anything that might be construed as trying to
profit in any way during this crisis.
But lots of people (both employees and customers) are telling us that they are experiencing additional stress, that they miss the social aspects of work and life, they miss the pace of regular life and what has humbled us more than anything, that they miss ESSpa and they miss us. So we have been wracking our brains as to what we can do to help everyone as we are forced to hunker down
for another month to ensure that life, as we once knew it, can return sooner rather than later.
We have a few ideas - both for now and for later. 1) To help tomorrow: As soon as we are allowed to reopen, ESSpa will dedicate every other Monday to providing free services for all Healthcare workers. Hair Cuts, Manicures, Massages, Facials, waxing, makeup - if we are allowed, we will pack up our Massage tables, MakeUp chairs, Pedicure bowls and hot stones and will go to Hospitals, Fire Departments, EMTs and Police Stations to provide stress-relieving services to those unable to make it to the spa. 2) To help today: Today is National Crayon Day. Most of us are stuck at home, most with our families. What we would like everyone to do is this: Get a blank sheet of paper. Grab a crayon (or a pencil or a pen or any writing implement) and create a drawing. This drawing should reflect your individual interpretation of what today's crisis means to you. When you are finished, we would love for you to email your drawing to us so we can create a gallery for all to enjoy, share and reflect upon. EVERYONE who shares their drawing will receive a complimentary Gift from ESSpa that can be used when we reopen. The two drawings that means the most to Eva will receive a full year of Complimentary Massages or Complimentary Hair Cuts/Blow Outs. Email your drawings directly to Eva@esspa.com with Crayon Day in the subject line. 3) To help this week: This Thursday beginning at 12noon, Scott will be live streaming Virtual Triva Happy Hour. He will try to come up with questions that cannot be easily 'googled' along with setting up his old DJ system (filled with thousands of music from the 80s and 90s) to entertain all - all day. Our son Kristian might join in with his instruments (he has a bunch of guitars, keyboards and drums) to help bring things into the new millennium. At 5pm, we will have Virtual Toast and continue the Happy Hour with everyone who cares to join us. 4) Please know that Eva and I will have been and will make every possible effort to continue to pay our entire staff of 40+ employees for the duration of our forced closure. This includes contributing to their retirement accounts, keeping up with their health-insurance premiums and ensuring that a squeaky-clean physical space filled with plenty of gloves, masks, antibacterial cleansers and other necessary items, is ready and available when we reopen. 5) While our physical doors may be currently closed by order of Governor Wolf, we are still available to deliver an wide variety of products that you might find necessary - shampoo, soap, face wipes, masks, essential oils, scrubs, acne treatments, anti-bacterial silver toothpaste and more. If you are interested, please send an email to Scott@esspa.com with "I Need Something" in the subject line and I will personally take care of it immediately. As I mentioned earlier, this is a tough situation, not so much for us (we are safe at home, together) but for all those who are still at work; those who are sick; those who are alone or far from home; those who are taking care of those in need and those who are trying their best to solve this crisis as soon as possible. Join us in saying a prayer for all of them to protect them and bring them peace. May you have a safe and Healthy day,
Scott Kerschbaumer
