Its Social Media Day | ||
Hi . Eva and Scott from ESSpa Kozmetika here enjoying a truly perfect Pittsburgh Summer Day (a few puffy clouds, lots of sun, a gentle breeze and about 74 degrees). What better weather to kick off the first ever Social Media Day. Why would we even bother to announce and spread the word about a "holiday" that is not official and has really never existed (until this year)? Because if there is one thing that has allowed ESSpa Kozmetika to grow as quickly as it has and that has helped us become recognized as a spa industry leader - it is Social Media. Now, before everyone starts screaming, I know that it is really Eva's work-ethic, attention to detail and amazing knowledge of esthetics that is responsible for our success.
Anyway, nothing to sell today (there is one little deal for tomorrow 7/1 - see below). I just wanted to go over all of the things that we do to make it more convenient for you to find out what is going on here at the spa so we can help you look better and feel great all the time.
You know the names: Facebook; Twitter; LinkedIn; Yelp; Wordpress; YouTube. And then there are newbies like Foursquare; Brightkite; MeetUp; Flickr; Digg; the iPhone App du'jour - the list is literally endless. But the granddaddy of social media and the gold-standard by which all others are measured (in my opinion) is the personal email list. Sending notes (that have more than 140 characters) and the ability to engage individuals into a cohesive community such as this one is the goal that all the other platforms strive to achieve. At the core, this is only possible when people willingly become part of that community and every individual is able to extract something of value from their participation. This is what makes our EvaSavers email group so special. Unlike Twitter or Facebook or other venues, our simple little email community doesn't get overwhelmed by random posts that have are are irrelevant at best and can be down-right annoying or worse.
So back to Social Media Day. If you are looking for something to do that will make everyone realize how hip and "in-touch" you are with the cutting edge of society I provide these ideas for you to go out and express your SocialMediability:
