Hi. You are more than just a client of my business. I consider you to also be a friend and part of my extended "American" Family. And I want you to understand how much I really appreciate that. When I first stepped off the plane at JFK in 1996, not only did I not speak any English, I didn't have any friends or family or even a place to live. The people of this country took me in and welcomed me as one of their own - one of them even married me. And 2009 will be the first year that I am able to really celebrate MY Independence because on May 27th, 2009 - I officially became a Citizen of the United States of America. As someone who grew up in a communist country, I cannot express in words how different, how unique, how wonderful and how FREE my new country is. There is NOTHING like it and I would not be the woman, wife and mother I am today if not for the USA. America is truly something special - and so are the people that live here. I hope that each and every one of you (especially those who have never spent time in another country) consider what 07/04 really means after all of the picnics, parties and pyrotechnics are over. That you and I, all of us and each of us, must ensure that the amazing experiment in liberty and freedom your forefathers started 233 years ago does not become just another bank holiday.
